Bobble Babble: Erick Aybar was signed by the Angels as an undrafted international free agent in 2002 and made his MLB debut with the Angels on May 16th, 2006. He gradually established himself, becoming the Angels’ regular shortstop and a fixture in their infield from around 2008 onward. Aybar won the Gold Glove at shortstop in 2011 and was named an All Star in 2014. The Angels did not re-sign him after the 2015 season, but he picked up a contract with the Tampa Bay Rays the following year. The Rays traded him to the Braves in August, and he was traded again a month later to the Tigers. After 2016, Aybar left MLB, played a few more seasons in the Dominican Republic and Mexican League, and then retired.
