Los Angeles Angels Bobblehead History

Angels Bobble Babble: Between 2001 and 2025, the Los Angeles Angels (known at various times throughout this period as the Anaheim Angels and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) hosted 75 bobblehead giveaway events, featuring a total of 76 unique bobbleheads.  The Angels were the 11th MLB team to incorporate bobbleheads into their promotional schedule. 

  • From 2001 to 2025, the Halos posted a cumulative record of 2,024–1,924, reflecting a winning percentage of .513.  On bobblehead giveaway nights the club’s record recorded a .578 winning percentage (41–30).
  • The average attendance during this timeframe was 35,454 fans per home game. On bobblehead giveaway nights specifically, the Angels averaged 38,541 fans in attendance. The capacity of Angel Stadium is about 46,000.
  • Of the 76 Angel bobbleheads, 70 of them were athletes or coaches.  Of the 70, 63 of them were on the Angels roster at the time, two were coaches, and five were legacy players.
  • The other six bobbleheads giveaways were “non-players”.  This would include mascots and characters dressed in Angel or baseball attire. 
  • Of the 75 bobblehead giveaways, 72 were handed out ahead of a game, two were season ticket holder exclusives, one was available to group ticket purchasers, and one was part of a 5k “fun run” that happened before a game.
  • Of the 68 athlete bobbleheads, 58 were position players and ten were pitchers.
  • Of the 58 position player bobbleheads, only 40 of the featured athletes actually played on their bobblehead giveaway night. 
  • The Angels that played on their bobblehead nights combined for a .302 batting average and a .376 slugging percentage over 149 at bats.
  • No Angel pitcher has ever thrown on his bobblehead night.
  • As of the end of the 2025 season, the least attended Angel bobblehead giveaway was the Logan O’Hoppe SGA on April 30th, 2024 (not including the minimized crowds in 2021).  The highest attended was the BB-8 and Mike Trout Star Wars Night offering on April 21st, 2023.
  • Pechanga Resort Casino has sponsored more Angel bobbleheads than any other organization with eight.
