Bobble Babble: Kyle Blanks played for the San Diego Padres from 2008 to 2013, mostly as a first baseman and outfielder, and was considered one of the team’s promising power hitters during his tenure, though his career was hampered by injuries. He was drafted by the Padres in the 2nd round of the 2005 MLB Draft, and was a highly regarded prospect known for his size and raw power. Blanks made his MLB debut in 2008 at age 22. He is presented here in the Padre’s “military appreciation” style uniform. This bobblehead (as well as the rest of the 2010 series) comes with a cardboard backer card that features a photo of the athlete on the field and a printed signature. This set also took the Padres’ bobbleheads of the antiquated “parade rest” position that they had generally employed, and into more action-oriented poses.
