Bobble Babble: Darin Erstad is one of the most celebrated players in Angels history, renowned not only for his hitting and speed but especially for his elite defense. As a centerfielder he was known for exceptional range and a strong, accurate arm, capable of throwing out runners from deep in the outfield. At first base, he boasted an incredible fielding percentage of .996. That’s only four errors in 1,056 total chances. Erstad is the only player in MLB history to win a Golden Glove both as an infielder and an outfielder. This bobblehead is celebrating his award for his work at first base the previous season. He won his other Golden Glove as a centerfielder in 2002.
