Rockies Bobble Talk: Between 2002 and 2025, the Rockies have given out 61 unique bobbleheads. They were the third to last team to incorporate bobbleheads into their promotional schedule (with only the Expos and Red Sox to follow).
- From 2002 to 2025, the Rox posted a cumulative record of 1,697-2,090, reflecting a winning percentage of .448. On bobblehead giveaway nights the club’s record improved to .492 (30-31).
- The average attendance during this timeframe was 31,750 fans per home game. On bobblehead giveaway nights specifically, they averaged 38,483 fans in attendance. The capacity of Coors Field is around 50,000.
- Of the 61 Rockies bobbleheads, 55 of them were athletes and one was a manager. Of the 55 athletes, 47 of them were on the roster at the time and eight were legacy players.
- Of the 55 athlete bobbleheads, 50 were position players and only five were pitchers. Apparently pitchers are at a disadvantage at Coors Field on its mound and in its bobblehead lineup.
- The other five non-player bobbleheads were two of Dinger (the team’s mascot), a dual with Jeff Kingery and Jack Corrigan (color commentators for the team), sasquatch (he’s a mystery), and Iron Man (he’s Iron Man).
- The Rox don’t appear to have ever done a special or exclusive bobblehead giveaway. Nothing for season ticket holders, special ticket purchases, club participants, or other stadium events. In Denver, one seat gets you one bobblehead. End of story.
- The Rockies only do bobblehead giveaways on the weekends. 93.4% of their SGAs have either come on a Saturday or a Sunday (predominantly Sunday). Just three have gone out on Fridays. But there is one lone weekday wolf out there. It’s the 20th Anniversary Todd Helton on Wednesday September 25th, 2013. This was Helton’s last home game and so an exception to the rule was made.
- As of the end of the 2025 season, the least attended Rockies bobblehead giveaway was the Michael Cuddyer “gnome” SGA on April 6th, 2014. The highest attended was the 20th anniversary Todd Helton giveaway on September 25th, 2013.
- King Soopers has sponsored more Rockies bobbleheads than any other organization with thirteen.
- The Los Angeles Dodgers have been their most common bobblehead night opponent with eight matchups.
