Milwaukee Brewers Bobblehead History

Brewers Bobble Babble: Between 2001 and 2025, the Milwaukee Brewers hosted a nearly unprecedented 224 bobblehead events, featuring a total of 281 unique bobbleheads.  Interestingly, the Brewers were the 20th MLB team to incorporate bobbleheads into their promotional schedule, which puts them on the latter end of the trend. But they made up ground quickly.

• From 2001 to 2025, the Crew posted a cumulative record of 1,984-1,964, reflecting a winning percentage of .503.  On bobblehead giveaway nights they improved dramatically to .571 (117-88).
• The average attendance during this timeframe was 31,041 fans per home game. On bobblehead giveaway nights specifically, the Brewers averaged 36,861 fans in attendance. The capacity of American Family Field is about 42,000.
• Of the 222 Brewer bobblehead giveaway events:
  • 154 of them were of athletes.  Of those, 108 of them were on the Brewers roster at the time and 46 were legacy players.
  • Seven of them were managers or coaches.
  • Two of them were both players and coaches for the Brewers; Craig Counsell and Robin Yount (both versions were given away on the same nights).
  • Five of them were broadcasters (all Bob Uecker).  Bill Schroeder, the Brewers’ current lead color-commentator, has also had a bobblehead, but it was set during the 1970s when he was an active player.
  • Ten of them were of official Brewers’ mascots.  They are Bernie Brewer and Barrelman.
  • 22 of them were “unofficial” mascots.  They are primarily the various tubed meats that participate in the Sausage Races, but there were also a few of Hank the Ballpark Pup.
  • Eleven of them were characters from films or television, and another six were fictional characters from other media.
  • Three of them were sponsors, three were vintage bobblehead reproductions, two were athletes from other sports, one was GM Doug Melvin, one was owner Mark Attanasio, and one was owner Bud Selig.
• Of the Brewer athlete bobbleheads, 24.6% of them were infielders, 28.0% were outfielders, 24.6% of them were pitchers, 9.7% were catchers, 14.0% of them were utility players, and 1.9% (Hank Aaron) was primarily a designated hitter.  Of the infielders, 42.2% played first base, 22.2% were second base, and 17.8% were either third or shortstop.  Note that Robin Yount, who played both shortstop and centerfield (and had a lot of bobbleheads) was classified here as utility.
• The Brewers are the reigning kings of the variant.  51 of their bobblehead events had more than one version of the subject, with varying ratios of each.
• Fourteen of the Brewers bobbleheads were exclusive to season seat holders (now called season seat members) or individuals who purchased special holiday ticket packages. 
• As of the end of the 2025 season, the least attended Brewers bobblehead giveaway was the Bratwurst SGA on May 4th, 2003 with 18,571 fans.  The highest attended was the Christian Yelich 2018 National League MVP offering on June 9th, 2019 with 45,375.
• Sentry Foods and American Family Insurance are tied with the highest number of Brewers bobblehead sponsorships with 15 each.
• The Brewers have hosted a bobblehead giveaway night with every team in Major League Baseball as an opponent EXCEPT the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox.
• The Pittsburgh Pirates have been their most common bobblehead night opponent with 29 matchups.
