Bobble Babble: Kole Calhoun was drafted by the Angels in the 8th round of the 2010 MLB draft out of Arizona State. He wasn’t a top prospect, but he worked his way up with determination and eventually became the Angels’ everyday right fielder. He debuted briefly in 2012, then became a regular by 2014, forming a steady outfield duo with Mike Trout. On July 25th, 2015, the Angels were playing the Texas Rangers at home. Leonys Martín hit a ball deep to right field that looked certain to clear the fence. Calhoun sprinted back, timed his leap perfectly, and snagged the ball over the yellow line — stealing a homer and crashing into the wall in the process. This legendary catch played over-and-over on top ten lists, and was a major contributor towards Calhoun’s Gold Glove award that year. This bobblehead captures the moment nicely.
