Bobble Babble: Over the years a handful of teams have adopted unofficial mascots when there’s no official mascot (or even in addition to the one they already have). While the Padres officially have the “Swingin’ Friar”, they also have the “San Diego Chicken”. The “Rally Possum” was a thing in Oakland. The Cardinals even put their “Rally Squirrel” on the World Series ring. But perhaps the most well-known and persistent unofficial team mascot is the Angels’ “Rally Monkey”. The monkey has spawned at least a couple dozen plush giveaways, and a host of other monkey themed giveaways. While this particular bobble-belly was not the first monkey SGA, it was the first of the bobble variety.
